These are local prices inside Escondido. Moving up to Temecula or out to the coast adds drive time, and the $75 trip charge applies to the outer towns. We've done plenty of second-floor two-bedrooms in five hours flat when the boxes were taped and waiting by the door.
Stairs, Elevators and Long Carries
A lot of Escondido complexes are two-story walk-ups built in the 1970s and 80s, with outdoor stairs and a parking lot that wraps around the buildings. Every set of stairs adds about 20 to 30 minutes on a one-bedroom. Elevator buildings are faster, but only if the elevator is reserved and padded. Call the office a week ahead and book it for the whole morning.
Think about the walk from the truck, too. If it's longer than a football field, tell us. We'll bring a second four-wheel dolly and an extra mover, which costs less than the hours it saves.
Moving Out of a Gated Complex
Gated communities and HOAs often want three things before move day: a certificate of insurance, a reserved time slot and the truck size. We send the paperwork to the office the week before. If the gate only opens for residents, meet us there at start time or leave a code with us, and the crew won't sit outside on your dime.
Moving Day in an August Heat Wave
Inland Escondido hits the 90s most summer afternoons, and a third-floor carry at 2 p.m. is slow for everyone. Load before the heat: from June through September our crews roll at 6:30. Put the fans and the bottled water in a box you keep with you.

How many movers do I need for a one-bedroom apartment?
A pair of movers gets most one-bedrooms done in four to six hours. Add a third mover if the unit is up more than one flight of stairs, the walk to the truck is long, or you have heavy pieces like a solid wood dresser or a pull-out couch. The third mover usually pays for itself in saved hours.
Do you move on weekends?
Yes, Saturdays are regular work days for us, and Sunday moves are available by appointment. Weekends and the last few days of each month book up first, so call one to two weeks ahead. If your lease lets you, a midweek date halfway through the month is the easiest to schedule.
Is there a minimum charge for small moves?
Yes, our minimum is three hours, which covers most studios and many one-bedroom apartments. That's $435 with two movers and the truck. There's no trip charge inside Escondido. For a single couch or a few pieces, the minimum still applies, so it often makes sense to add a few extra items to the same trip.
Will you take apart my bed and put it back together?
Yes, at no extra charge. We take apart bed frames, crib rails and table legs, bag and tape the hardware to the piece it came from, and put everything back together at the new place. Flat-pack furniture moves fine too, though particleboard pieces can loosen, so we wrap them carefully.
Can you move me into a storage unit?
Yes. Lots of renters move part of an apartment into a self-storage unit and the rest into a smaller place. We'll load your things into the unit tight and stacked, heavy items low and boxes high. Skip the rented unit if you like, we can store your things in vaults at our warehouse instead.
